In a press conference in front of family and friends, Myrtle Beach (S.C.) junior linebacker Bruce Taylor did something he has been leaning towards doing for quite some time – make a commitment to Virginia Tech. Now that he has his recruitment out of the way, the 6-3, 230-pound star is eager to focus on the remainder of his high school career.
“I had been to a lot of other schools, but I just felt comfortable with Virginia Tech,” Taylor said. “I went there for the spring game. It was real nice. I loved the atmosphere. People I didn’t even know were coming up to me and saying hi and ‘we want you to come to Virginia Tech.’ Blacksburg is a little town. I liked that because I won’t have to deal with a lot of distractions. I really like the school. Also, they run the same defense as us and I like what Coach Foster teaches.
