After missing most of his junior season due to a knee injury, Southern Nash (Wilson, N.C.) 6-1 ½, 265-pound defensive end Kwamaine Battle was just happy to take the field three-and-a-half weeks ago in good health. Battle, who suffered a torn MCL and PCL last season, is enjoying his season despite his team losing two close games.
“It’s going well,” Battle said of his senior year. “My grades are good and everything. In our football season, we’re 1-2 and have lost two close games. In our last game, I had a fumble recovery and our coach told me I was in on like eight tackles and I had two sacks.
