Earlier this week, Virginia Tech landed a commitment from Clark Crum, an offensive tackle prospect out of Scioto High School in Dublin, Ohio. Crum, who says he’s “6-6 ¾ without shoes on” and weighs 285 pounds, is the first commitment for the 2006 recruiting class. His commitment is a good start in addressing the need at offensive line, which is one of the top needs in this year’s class. Look for the Hokies to try and take four more offensive lineman.
A good athlete, Crum plays basketball as well and averaged 17 points per game last season. On the gridiron, he earned first-team all-district honors last season as a junior. Crum is a two-year starter at offensive tackle.
