Westfield (Chantilly, VA) all-state punter Brent Bowden took an official visit to Virginia Tech this past weekend. While on the trip, he spoke with head coach Frank Beamer, who informed him that the Tech coaches "were almost positive" that they would offer an official scholarship. Last night, Bowden received his offer.
"Coach Beamer talked to me while I was on my visit," Bowden said. "He told me they had to check, but that they were almost positive that they were going to offer me. Eddie [Royal] called me last night and he told me to call Coach Beamer. I called Coach Beamer and he told me I had an offer."
