The University of Virginia Men’s Basketball program received commitment #2 for the 2005 recruiting class today, when 6-10, 220-pound center/power forward Sam Warren verbally committed to the Cavs. Warren chose Virginia over Nebraska after making official visits to both schools.

“In comparing Virginia and Nebraska, which were his final two, there were a few things that favored Virginia,” said Vanita Warren, mother of Sam Warren . “The opportunity to play in the ACC was a big advantage. Samuel enjoyed the coaching staff at Virginia, particularly Coach Fitzpatrick. He liked Charlottesville, and liked it a little better than Lincoln. Academically, there is a player already taking the same program he wants to take. He wants to major in Game Design or Animation. Nebraska's coaches were great, but there were a lot of things that favored Virginia.”
