What’s good news for Broad Run High School football is bad news for their opposition... Alex Field has gotten much bigger and faster since last season. The 2003 Dulles District Player of the Year is now up to 260-pounds and has lessened his 40-yard dash time to 4.8 seconds, making him an even more confident and dangerous player heading into his senior year.
“Basically, I’ve been working in the weight room and running on the track,” Field said of his off-season. “I’m about 260-pounds now. I’ve gained 20 pounds since last season. I don’t really feel much different [with the added weight]. I’ve actually gotten faster than before. My teammates tell me all the time that they notice I’m a lot faster. I timed myself at school the other day and I ran a 4.8 in the 40. I’ve only run the 40 once before, and that was during my freshman year. I ran a 5.0 then.
