Denzel Burrell , a 6-4, 208 pound outside linebacker prospect out of Columbia High School (Maplewood, NJ) and UVa’s 9th verbal commitment for the 2005 recruiting class, tripped down to his future school earlier this summer. Burrell, who has played defensive end throughout high school, enjoyed his first experience playing linebacker during UVa's summer camp.

“I went to UVa’s summer linebacker camp at the end of June,” Burrell said. “It was cool working out with the linebackers. We did 7-on-7, and I really learned a lot. It was really my first experience at linebacker. This year I’ll be playing a different array of positions, and I’ll be playing off the end sometimes. Before I left I bought a linebacker tape. It has drills I can work on…drills I can do with our players.”
