Another top Randallstown High School (MD) prospect made it down to Blacksburg on July 10th. 5-11, 175 pound cornerback Jamari McCollough joined teammate Melvin Alaeze on an unofficial visit to Tech this past weekend. Like Alaeze, McCollough did not participate in the camp.
“We got there [on Saturday],” McCollough said. “When we got there we ate at the Dining Hall. After that we walked around and looked at the football facilities. We walked through the tunnel the players walk out of. That was very exciting. Then we toured the facilities. I liked that. I talked to Coach Beamer, Coach Ball, Coach Foster, and the Defensive Backs Coach [Lorenzo Ward]. The Defensive Backs Coach told me I’m their number one cornerback on their board. He told me I could make good accomplishments on the team and that they don’t have a problem starting freshmen. He said Defensive Backs are born and not made and that he could really develop my talent if I went there."
