So far in the 2005 recruiting class, the Virginia Cavaliers have one commitment from 6-8, 240 pound power forward Laurynas Mikalauskas. With a likely four scholarships to be given out for the ensuing class, UVa is pursuing several other low-post targets as well. One of those targets is Tilton High School (Tilton, NH) 6-9, 240 pound power forward Alfred Aboya (pronounced Ah-Boy-Ya).
As a junior this season, Aboya averaged close to 20 points and double digit rebounds according to Tilton Head Coach Scott Willard. Playing the center position, he helped Tilton to a 26-2 record and a New England Class B Championship.
