Matt Lowry's first trip to the University of Virginia came last November, when he made an unofficial visit for the Virginia Tech game. The experience made a lasting impression and led to his eventual commitment this past weekend.
"I liked Virginia from the first time I went there," Lowry said. "It was Thanksgiving for the game against Virginia Tech. I loved it down there. I really liked the coaches and I love how the team was. The football field was awesome and the campus had a real nice layout. I have been to other colleges since then, and I always found myself comparing them to Virginia. Virginia's a place I know I could call home in a couple of years."
