As a junior, 6-6 Wyatt Hicks weighed only 210 pounds as a tight end for Highland Springs High School (Highland Springs, VA). Heading into his senior season, Springers Head Coach Scott Burton decided to move his bruising tight end to offensive tackle, and the move has paid off considerably for both parties.

“I guess Coach Burton had some good foresight for me,” Hicks said. “I didn’t earn any honors as a tight end, but so far I’ve earned first-team all-district and first-team all-region at offensive tackle. All-State and All-Metro haven’t come out yet. There have definitely been more perks to playing tackle.”
