Chaminade-Madonna (FL) head coach Mark Guandolo had used John Dunlap only on offense before this season. He put the talented 6-3, 215 pound prospect on defense this spring, and the response from Division I-A schools was outstanding.
"Once we put him at outside linebacker for spring practice, colleges went crazy," said Guandolo, who coached former Tech cornerback Loren Johnson in high school. "He was a great receiver for us the previous two seasons (earned all-state and all-county honors last season), but he was probably more of a possession type guy. He's 6-3, 215 pounds, and runs a 4.6. At wide receiver, he's more of a possession player. At outside linebacker, he's a great, great athlete. I think he's going to go further at outside linebacker than he will at wide receiver."
