Virginia Tech signed its third basketball recruit today, when Deron Washington inked a Letter of Intent with the Hokies. Washington, a 6-7, 190 pound wing player from National Christian Academy in Fort Washington, MD, chose Virginia Tech over scholarship offers from Charlotte, Georgia, and Ole Miss.

"I signed with Virginia Tech," said Washington, who made official visits to Charlotte and Virginia Tech. "I liked them because of the move to the ACC, and there will be good competition there. It's a good campus and they have a good coach. Academically, they are good too. I'm thinking about majoring in Business or Architecture."
