Before the start of his junior season, Clarence Vaughn transferred from Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Fairfax, Virginia. He enrolled at Robinson High School, where he played for the varsity football squad last season.

His first year for the Rams was not especially flashy, as the physically talented Vaughn was busy learning the new offense.
