but TJ has to own his struggles this season. He undeniably had some incredibly difficult trials to deal with like his mom getting diagnosed with cancer and having a knee injury. But, my fear for TJ’s long-term athletic aspirations are that blame is being put on the lack of a world-class training partner or a position coach, or an injury, etc. Mekhi and Caleb proved there is no ceiling to success for a wrestler at VT. TJ proved he can be successful here. Ultimately, your ceiling in this sport is dependent on two things: the physical gifts God gives you (and TJ received more than most) and what you choose to do with those gifts. If he wants to be on the podium again or even at the top of the podium, he can do that here, and he could do that at any top 15 program. Hope he realizes he’s got a good thing here with every possible goal being achievable here.
