Disagree. The angles everyone saw show a clear catch. Especially a catch
that in no way could be enough to overturn. Announcers & the TV game officials always comment how a player can control the ball & it can touch the ground & it is indeed a catch. Coale had the ball secure. The ground did not aid him in the catch & the ball did not move. He caught the ball! His leading left elbow even hit the ground first in bounds with control. If you recall, the TV announcers in the game pointed this out repeatedly during the review & with angles & even commented how that was the 3rd reviewed catch of the game & was the one that was strongest of a catch. They spent the entire review time showing it in slow motion & commented “step by step” how it was a catch. All that evidence showed it. And again it was called a TD on the field - absolutely no way it could/should be overturned. The TV announcing crew was shocked. Was especially BS when the ruling explanation given was that he did not control the ball through the catch to the ground- what? That part was never in the question. The ball never moved and as Danielson & Blackledge said - he controlled the ball securely and his left elbow hit the ground first.
Hokie fans (with the exception of you & maybe a few others) of course all see a catch (because it was!). Casual Michigan fans mostly see it as a non-catch as a fan. Football aware Michigan fans are a mix. I was at the game with Hokies & a group of 8 friends who are Michigan fans (Alums). 6 of the 8 thought it was a catch- but of course were fine with the overturn for Michigan. One of the 2 who didn’t think it was a catch has a Michigan tattoo & a Bo Schembechler tattoo - he was never going to give it an objective view! The key is the overwhelming majority of non VT biased & non Michigan biased people see it as the catch it truly was! Go Hokies!
