I respectfully disagree. And I truly mean that, but…

I don’t think recruits pay very much attention to dual results. They care whether the coaches can get them on the podium and world teams. I think Robie and Co have proven they can do that. We’ve had AAs at 8/10 weights (141/hwt), I believe, under Robie - 2 champs, 3 finalists, and 4 finals appearances in 6 tournaments with one finals appearance prior to that by my count. 3 or more AAs in the last 11 tournaments. Junior world champ and junior bronze. They are punching above their weight and I think the recruits are figuring that out. I am not even sure that any coaches care as much about duals as we would like them to. Pitch counts, ducking, redshirts getting matches, etc. all kind of show that duals aren’t at the top of coaches’ priority lists. They don’t want to lose, but I don’t think they sell out for them. March is all that matters. All of these guys are winners, but a couple are struggling right now. I honestly think some of our expectations aren’t realistic.

So can we put to bed that our wresting program is our best program?

What other program has consistently been in top 10? **

What other program only has 80 other D1 schools in their sport?

You really enjoy stopping by to put down wrestling, don't you?

No I don’t. I just don’t think it’s our best program. It’s good and solid

One or two duals a year doesn’t define a program.
TartanHokie 01/10/25 08:08 PM ET
It has constantly been in the top 10, so yeah, it's our best program
EDGEMAN 01/10/25 07:07 PM ET
Cornell literally got 2nd last year with 3 AAs.**

Vs. all the other programs that are consistently top 4?**
Pylons 01/10/25 07:04 PM ET
Don't believe we'll be top 4 after this poor performance. Even top 10?**
hokie77 01/10/25 08:05 PM ET
No. Terrible dual, but who are you nominating?
nvpbrown 01/10/25 07:02 PM ET
Then what is our best program?**

Good grief. You do realize this has nothing to do with March, right?**
