How do you have a talent like Turnage
And not develop her offensive game? Should easily average a double double...

GT started out with a game plan that had a great chance to hurt VT. They set screens that ended up with players like Nelson, Wenzel, Wells, or Sufften on her or Samuel down low. They repeatedly looked to lob into her. However VT defended it, GT was scoring and drawing some fouls.
Turnage just came off a 10-for-13 day against Pitt. Freelon had to go to the bench. We had a freshman in Trent and Peterson at times out there.
But GT never really had Turnage post up and force VT to guard her or double her and risk giving up 3-pt shots. GT just used her outside to "facilitate" the offense with passing. That is poor coaching. We go into the season talking about our lack of size and lack of post depth, and you have teams that have the personnel to beat us, but don't use them the right way.
I don't even think it is about not having an offensive game; it is about not using her the right way.

A nice addition- if she had a post move or two, we'd have been in trouble...
