sure would like to see Jenkins getting a little playing time.
Watching the last few games she is she seems to be a little disinterested while sitting on the bench

Would be nice against bigger teams to have frelon and Trent/jenkins in there. Would be fine on defense but perhaps not on O.

It would have been nice to see her in some of those games

so she needs all the minutes... VT has a post by committee that looks like Freelon, Trent, Baker and Petersen. and before one more person throws shade at Petersen, she took one for the team last year as Rose's backup and a couple games were won that way, so she's one of the players with post skills right now. So, instead of the "take them away from Kayl" rhetoric, it's more of a when can we give more to Trent attitude with Kayl yet again taking one for the team working the space while Aniya builds her skills and confidence. The next case for where to get minutes from is Freelon, yes, she's been great at times, but also gets into foul trouble at times too. So, I kind of see come January Trent and Freelon splitting time in a more nuanced fashion: ie keeping Freelon out of foul trouble Trent will be part of the regular rotation against ACC teams now (not just cupcakes) she'll be first off the bench. Not sure how Baker works into that, how she's getting rebounds etc. following her shots in? I don't know if she really has post duties per se but she has benefited from Trent's quick passes out/assists. Maybe pull her out of there to let her score more on mid-range and threes? as Trent takes up more space? Haven't really watched enough whole games to see what's happening there.
so, yeah, trying to figure how to get Jenkins more minutes...hmmmm. yeah, she can start collecting those blowout minutes I suppose...if that happens. Need to keep her engaged too. I think Duffy puts players in for a minute or two to see how they're doing...and if they hit a shot or two then they get to stay in longer so maybe see her in a few when it matters minutes? I expect to see that at least once for Sophie too Jan 1. At the worst, Jenkins will be getting a lot of minutes next fall as Freelon ages out, might help to start prepping Jenkins more now*
But yeah: just like QB#1 Trent needs all the minutes available at post.
*There is some talk about being able to redshirt players ten games - something equivalent to four games in football, ie, why does football get this benefit and other sports don't - but it's just talk right now. Under these conditions though, does Duffy hold off this spring in hopes of rule changes next summer? who knows.

of minutes she needs and deserves doesn't show good judgement.

110-45 blowout over UTA. ND played only 10 in a 110-38 blowout over Bellarmine. That's the first two that I even looked up.
For a good coach, you must earn minutes, you are not given them.

16 mpg. In the last 6 games she has averaged 11 mpg (and only 9 mpg in the last 3 games).
Meanwhile, Trent averaged 5 mpg (including 3 DNPs) in the first 8 games, and since has averaged 16 mpg (incl > 17 mpg in the last 3 games).
Clearly, Trent is taking minutes from Kayl because Kayl is not an adequate backup at the 5 spot. From here on, Kayl will backup Carys and will be spot duty only at the 5. And that's exactly what the team needs to happen.
