Overall a bad loss, had a chance to win just didn’t execute in important possessions down the stretch. Stating the obvious but, we had a lot of trouble rebounding the ball, as they had two girls with double doubles, this came not just from lack of size but also mixed box outs which we can not afford to do with a smaller team. We have to have Amani or Aniya at least be able to come in a battle with the bigger post players The rotation was interesting to me, I thought Mel would’ve been in there towards the end with her being an experienced 5th year player. I also think we are lacking some three point shooting so thought Swanson would have at least gotten a couple of minutes I thought Baker, Wenzel, and Nelson all played well overall as they got us back into the game and gave us a chance to win at the end. I thought offensively we could’ve spread JMU out more in and tried to take them off the dribble, just seemed very crowded in the paint And I know yall think I’m crazy but we really miss Kate. She can be played on the ball or off the ball, she can score at all three levels, and she is also a really good passer. Currently we really only have one primary ball handler. On the bright side I think the ACC is down this year as NC State lost to Rhode Island today. So I think this team can still be one of the top teams in the ACC. Need to learn from this game make adjustments and hopefully win one this week in the Thanksgiving tournament and then be ready to host Florida at home!! Go Hokies!!!
