especially in this era of NIL. Of course every coach has an interview "conversation" at the end of the year and talk out the player's role for next year, The better players might talk about developing a mid-range jump shot, all of them get a picture of where the coach sees them next year and that may include fewer minutes and of course, spreading the NIL around some more: the "hard" conversation. All of this is simply the reality for every coach, having said that I don't think CMD is inclined to vindictively push someone out, I even think she had an agreement with Whit Babcock and VT to put some emphasis on kids graduating type stuff. (every coach does, right?) So, Kayl took one for the team, a 6' player playing backup 5 for Rose as a freshman and Rose was out for a couple games so Kayl earned a team win there. I mean, I would certainly hope CMD honors stuff like that and if Kayl leaves it's on her own accord, ie, going back to Marquette where she wanted to go orginally (but I don't know) Little more puzzled about Mackie, we needed the experience but maybe it would be s desultory year for her as coach works in playrs like Sears etc. Again, I dunno, but it looks like go to Clemson play for Poppie who may have recruited her, she'll be the pg for her senior year and Clemson had some NIL to give her on a down year for them.
