First, I agree. But, we are not going to be driving left and right. It would not necessarily be any different than when Olivia Summiel fed Kitley from the high post or Talyor Soule operated from the high post with Kitley around the lane. Or when Baker and Freelon were high low...ie when Baker flashed to the FT line for a shot. We have done it without hurting the offense in the past and teams do it all the time. Teams have repeatedly hurt us by having two posts at the free throw line and they use screens off it. We have had both posts at the free throw line to pass into. We have been running 3-out successfully for years. What we truly need to get better at is using screens in a way that actually get the driver and the forward moving toward the basket. Our screens are often wastes and too casual. I could see a forward screening down the lane line and then the driver hitting the forward flashing in from the weakside short corner if the weakside defender has to take on the driver... That being said, I also don't see it being something that is done for long stretches at a time. We can always morph into 4-out, a player in the short corner, etc. If we are running 4-out for the purposes of driving lanes then we can't have a one dimensional offense where everyone is at the 3-pt line (not saying you said that). The offensive scheme is not changing. We still operate with driving lanes from the wing, the corner, even down a lane line without the second forward being in the way. So, I agree with you that we likely won't have them both playing alot togethe, but we will...just like Latham and Trent will be in at the same time, and it won't be a 4-out situationm ** Edited by VAHokie89 at 5/13/2026, 5:31:44 PM
