Here is my take on some of that

Freelon - We did not build offensive plays around Freelon that much. Remember when Micheaux would post up and we could feed her the ball for a layup attempt. We rarely did that with Freelon. Occasionally, she got a pass and faced up to maybe make a movie. She often could not. So.... MOST of what Freelon got was off of effort that made on the offensive glass or random plays. Between the offense going through Wenzel-Baker-and whoever else, Freelon was not a consistent target in the offense...including when she got in foul trouble. Whatever Freelon added to that point total you mentioned, I am not worried about Latham and Hurst making up for it. If Latham can actually be a focal point of the offense, like screen and rolls, passes into her for layups or jumpshots around the free throw line or even outside shots, then that is an automatic bonus. Hurst - Daley was valuable at times last year, but she went through a period after the Louisville game that she barely played and thus barely contributed. She was good for the mid-range pull up but rarely every drove all the way to the basket. Outside of the early part of the schedule, she was not going to have too many double-digit nights for a variety of reasons, i.e. the more that others shot, the less she could .... If Hurst can put the ball on the floor, gravy. If she can shoot from distance, bonus.... If she can rebound .... I think she might bring more... Sufften/Wells have to improve their outside shot. Sufften has to do more than drive and shoot pull-ups. She has to be able to orchestrate the office and pass when she draws defenders. Last year, she did not. Jenkins/Trent have to take the next step.. I can see them working well together in a high-low action...they showed that in the Islands. I am less worried about replacing Nelson. We will have people who can handle the role, even if they are just fine. It would be great to have an impact PG, but.... We just need a more diversified offense where we get more out of everyone else than we did just Baker-Wenzel. We also need to stop having those 2-for-10 nights from everyone, not just Wenzel

Can Coach Duffy recruit the bigs needed to get to the top of the ACC?**

I feel like she priortize speed/athletism over height.
RandomAsianGuy 05/05/26 06:38 PM ET
We don't know what she prioritized. Not getting a bigger time big does

Clearly it was my speculations based on the observation of the last two

Hokie Jack, I support your notion, won't be top of ACC without a good big**

Not sure “crowd funding” NIL really makes a meaningful difference
