Agree. I think those young players would not think that at all

I know you mentioned Suffren, but here is my take on Wenzel coming out of the Brook year and how it affected her when Duffy came. Wenzel made the typical freshman mistakes when she got in, such as bringing the ball up the sideline in transition and not recognizing an approaching trap or getting stopped and potentially passing it out of bounds. She would look over at Brooks. If anyone paid attention to his body language, he would look at her with his arms crossed often and it really felt like he would frown or give her a look that would destroy the confidence of players. Sure, she made mistakes and she got time, but I thought coming out of that season, he had destroyed her confidence and willingness to take risks. I think Suffren and Nelson in practice would potentially have dealt with the same thing. Duffy's first task was going to be rebuild confidence, instill within those players that they could actually play. Wenzel had to go from being essentially minimized by Brooks in her head to being a go to team leader who would have to put the team on her back, and deal with the mistakes that come with extended paying time.
