Was it Hodges that was constantly called for that? This Texas pitcher launches herself

Pitchers have 'launched' for years. All the best one's do. Before the . .
. . . rule change they were coached to 'launch' without getting caught . . . toe drag . . . There's no mechanical advantage in 'jumping' vertically. The key is 'fly' horizontally. If you did this you were rarely called, even before the rule change. Lemley was simply too vertical many times.

Yes. Changed the rules about contact with the ground 2(?) years ago.
