VT pitching better against Akron than earlier against LSU.
But pitchers still throwing a lot of pitches. 91/163 strikes to total pitches ratio for 55.8% compared to 46% against LSU. 6 BBs, 10 Ks versus Akron.

Mazz 41/75 = 54.6%
Carrico 22/39 = 56.4%
Layton 28/49 = 57.1%
By contrast, Akron pitcher threw 117 pitches, and 72 of those were strikes or 61.5%, only 2 BBs but only 1 K. She threw 252 pitches today. Wow.

I interviewed for job at Akron in the 1980's. That was one depressing place. Kudos to the coach there for recruiting as well as he does.
