My post disappeared: for those worried about our bats…
UVA is 3 in ACC in ERA basically in a dead heat with FSU FOR 2nd Hokies are 1 Duke is other with us in offensive stats and likely passed us in BA last night thanks to facing the 3rd worst staff in ACC When you’re #1 in offense and pitching you CAN win it all

One key will be NOT helping out Curd the way the hoos did Mazz last night.
Mazz was great but the hoos terrible approach at the plate really helped. Note that all 14 K's were swinging; no backward K's. I'm not sure any of those 14 pitches were actually strikes. Curd, like Mazz lives (when she does) on being 'effectively wild'. We need to not to hack away out of the zone.

Hopefully the ump today has a clue where the strike zone is.

Mazz got ahead and was close enough for Chase pitches
You’re right if UVA took more pitches especially with that ump it’s hit or miss whether he’s going to call a 3rd strike at all (man was he bad or what!? both ways)

Yes they can, but can’t issue 6 free passes and beat Duke

You can beat Duke in many ways, all of which consist of merely
outscoring them by one or more runs. Clemson beat them 13-11. Stanford beat them 11-4. We beat them 10-2. Oregon, OU and UCLA all scored 10+ runs against them in wins. I'm pretty sure we can issue 6 walks and win if we score more than 10 runs. BTW, Massey predicts a 6-5 VT win if that means anything.

I'm thinking it will take at least 6 runs for either team to win.
