new. He took Karl Kuhn's spot when Karl came to Radford as the head coach. UVA upgraded with the quality of person. Karl was a disaster on a number of fronts at RU. Our softball pitching coach situation was not remotely similar to UVA's baseball situation at all, especially timing wise. Our pitching situation will stabilize moving forward, and allow the other coaches not to have to "share" duties. It was a tough year from that perspective, but the young ladies worked through things as best as possible. When a fourth of your coaching is not there all year (and that missing piece was not planned), it puts a premium on everyone's responsibilities. We will get better with a full staff.
