as factors that hurt VT's chances of hosting. Yes...., but it still was the 3-game losing streak around GT-Liberty. We were sitting pretty, ranked #11th across nearly all 4 ranking services despite those early season factors. RPI was something to deal with but the other supposed metrics like DSR and KPI were going to help. Win 2 of those 3 games, we don't really drop in the discussion. But we lost three in a row. That dropped us in the rankings to 18th-20th in some of the rankings, some people's minds, and put us on the outside looking in when it comes to hosting.. Had we won those 3 or 2 of 3, and not hosted, it would have been about SOS, RPI, and those issues we are discussing, but prior to that streak, we were likely hosting or were definitely in the conversation about hosting. Combine that streak with the comeback victories by Stanford over FSU, that elevated Stanford in the conversation. So, yes. all of those early season factors will come into play, but we were situated to host had we not lost those 3. And if we take both of those two GT games, we likely beaet out Duke for the 2 seed in the tournament. Probably still the same path to the ACC championship game, but different...
