I just realized how close Clemson was to beating Texas in the Supers
The Tigers had won Game One 7-4 and was the home team in game two when the game went into extra innings.
In the bottom of the 8th, Clemson had runners on second and third with NO outs, needing just one run to win the Super Regionals and advance to the World Series. Instead... the next three batters went called strikeout (her 4th strikeout of the game), line out (by a .318 hitter), and a ground out (by a .413 hitter).
Texas eventually won that game in 10 innings and then won game three 6-5 to punch their ticket to the World Series.
Now Texas will play Texas Tech for the nation title starting tomorrow night.
OUCH!
I can only imagine the meltdown on this board if that happened to VT.
