It's being reported that starting FSU catcher Michaela Edenfield suffered a broken finger this weekend in a freak accident and is having to have season ending surgery. She was having an awesome year - hitting .398 with a team leading 11 home runs. She was a 2022 finalist for the National Freshman of the Year and was the preseason All-ACC catcher. She was replaced in Sunday's game by Sophomore Maddie Frey who has had 9 at bats this year. That's a huge drop off. There is also a post that Senior pitcher Allison Royalty has a shoulder injury. She is second on the team in starts (9) and ERA (3.96), but hasn't pitched since 3/24. As much as I want to outperform FSU, I hate to do it because of injuries.
