Mac held OK State to 3 hits and one unearned run over a 6 inning complete game……and lost 1-0 because, well, she was going up against Kelly Maxwell. She did walk 5 and also hit a batter. Still, that is a tremendous performance—OK State is full of big time sluggers, as we experienced first hand. It would have been neat to see Ivy Rosenberry pitch in that game, because then it would’ve been a battle of former Hokies. Alas, Ivy did not make an appearance. And none of this is to meant to suggest I am pining for Mac over any of our current pitchers. Not the case at all. Emma, Lyndsey, and Molly can and will take us far—I am confident in that. It’s just to recognize a former Hokie for a great game against a top team. She’s been a bit inconsistent at ASU, to be sure, it hasn’t all been shutdown performances like this.
