This really was poorly handled IMO. Based on Pete's statements he felt . .

. . . VT would've hosted if selected when, in fact, there was never a chance. Why keep it dangling in front of the passionate fanbase? I know Pete's view on we'll play anyone, anywhere but this would have to disappoint players and families. Probably helps explain the 'why are we even sitting here' reaction on the selection show.
