Pete was correct in his displeasure. The second base umpire made the call when it wasn’t hers to make. She can’t see both feet like the first or third base umps can. It’s their call. Pete called out what was an obvious overreaching ump. He has been calm in many situations on Emma’s illegals, but this one he was right on. Did he go too far? Maybe, it was hard to lip read, but I am fairly sure he dropped an Eff Bomb. In the end, I am not sure he wasn’t ready for this to happen, and may have pre-planned to push the issue. It seemed to light a fire under Emma, and I think the illegals stopped after that one.
