You are probably right…

The good news is that the NCAA has slowly allowed/transitioned to other metrics such as the NET in basketball. In softball, however, RPI is still the primary metric although there are other factors slowly coming into the thought process for selection and seeding. But change, especially for the NCAA is painfully slow. So as long as RPI is considered the primary tool, we’ll keep reporting it.
