Reminds me of a Pony League All-star game

Runner on first "sauntered" toward 2nd base, even scooping up some dirt. With a runner on first, our catcher* ran across the field toward the runner with the ball raised like he was going to throw it. He got into a personal rundown. The pitcher, shocked, didn't cover home. Suffice it to say both runners scored. *Epilogue: The catcher was on my regular season team (our coach managed the All--star team that year) and was a flake and hothead.

Situational but "Walking ball back to the circle", would freeze runners.

Easy. SS to halfway between 3rd and HP. P to halfway between 1st and 2nd.
