I doubt he’s calling pitches. Mac Lawter might be assisting Aldridge

and the other catchers with that function. Mike Lewis is the third base coach and Mac Lawter the first base coach while we are batting. He has another assistant coach as well. It is true that he’s the hitting coach, but they also have electronic devices and programs to assist in that capacity. So, I’m sure he’s got everything under control. It’s not quite like when Scot Thomas essentially had no one as a pitching coach when his pitching coach left on maternity leave…..and Denny Tincher “pitched in” as a volunteer for a while.
