D1 Softball is a garbage poll as well. The coaches poll is the one that

tells the true story. Coaches know the other coaches and communicate with one another. Any coach worth their weight in gold, keeps up with the softball world and is plenty familiar with the top 25+. ESPN/USA poll is biased toward the SEC who control all sports. Their days of ruling things is on the way out! The NIL and transfer portal have evened the playing field. The days of total domination by one conference is on the way out, perfect example that blows all of the others away is Indiana football. A coach who labored his whole career, until he got his chance at FCS/CFP team JMU winning as many games as he did in 2 seasons, and finished as the only 16-0 team in the modern era and won the national championship from one of the worst programs in the history of college football tells you all you need to know!
