Merely means that the Student-Athlete is the one who will initiate first contact with any particular team and that they do not wish to get the hundreds of texts that might otherwise occur. It is risky unless you know exactly where you want to go or have a very short list of “there or nowhere” schools. Canady has the luxury that she COULD have successfully used it, but it is otherwise used primarily for players who want to follow their coach and might have had prior “what if” discussions. Interestingly enough, she’ll probably not get the volume of outreach that a Lyndsey Grein did. In Canady’s case, if you aren’t top 10, maybe 20, you probably aren’t wasting your time. ** Edited by Hokie4Life_89 at 6/17/2024, 7:30:53 PM
