Baseball and softball fields were placed on campus in late 1990's

to early 2000's. I worked on campus from 1990 until 1999 and visited campus again in January of this year. Fields are still there. Nothing spectacular but fields none-the-less. UMES has a small but very nice and attractive campus. All of their sports programs have historically struggled in the MEAC. In fact, I watched their men's basketball team get routed by Salisbury State University, a DIII team at the time. Interestingly however, UMES added a women's bowling team several years ago and have won two national championships.

We've played Longwood every year at least once including the Fall

I think I heard that story, but figured everyone that fits that description

Well they may have them, but

That's what I want to see. Empty that bench at the starting lineup.**

My daughter's ex teammate plays for Longwood. LW also played Bama and Tenn.**

Looks like UMES likes to run as they don't hit the long ball!**
Lakeridgehokie 03/18/24 04:38 PM ET
Maybe they hit long rollers. If they can hit 'em where the defense isn't,
laphroaig 03/18/24 10:21 PM ET
Ain't....hit them where they ain't. Says Wee Willie Keeler.......... :)
santafe 03/19/24 08:35 AM ET
Sounds like we should play 15 innings between the three games.**
IV_Hokie12 03/18/24 04:09 PM ET
It’ll be somewhat disappointing if we play even one out beyond 15 innings!

You never know what might happen

A couple of decades ago, the then Cal coach got credit for a quote that

Thinking like that causes losses.
RJHokie 03/18/24 06:15 PM ET
True. Doesn't matter who the other team is. Take care of your business.**

Good thing Hoilday isn't playing (unless he's Ritter's sockpuppet).**

We could do something crazy like losing to Charlotte every year. **
IV_Hokie12 03/18/24 06:15 PM ET
Charlotte is better than these two teams **
HokiesACC2004 03/19/24 02:37 AM ET
Better than the best of both those teams put together.**
laphroaig 03/19/24 06:52 AM ET
True. Although we have to admit that Charlotte is a pretty good team.
