Agreed. What you can likely add to that is that the same thing
can likely be said about other teams we will face.
The positive side to this:
- We can win in different ways. The UVA series, as well as the Duke set of 4 games shows that...whether low scoring, with small ball and few HRs, whether solo HRs like against DUke, whether a bit of a hitting contest, or whatever.
- We lost 2-1 to the top team in the ACC and a top 10 nationally ranked team.
- While the team can lose to any of the top seeds in any bracket, it has the capability of beating most top seeded teams in any bracket (not sure about Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma...)
We just need to know that we can be a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde team whether on the mound or at the plate. At the level of playing against top 16 seeds/top 25 teams, we have to be able to hit ENOUGH to score more than the other team. That is all that it takes. The pitching.... we have to control the walks...that is pretty much it. Our batting average against, strikeouts, runs allowed, etc can compete against the best. The pitching has to be one enough to not lose 2 games in a series in a bracket.
