Tech may need to sweep Cal and win 2 of 3 vs. FSU...
and get to ACC Tournament semifinals. My concern is going 3-3 vs. Cal (2-1) and FSU (1-2) will drop Tech out of the Top 16 or even Top 20 and a few SEC teams or even a team like Clemson sneak into spots 15 and 16. Emma Lemley had a terrible series. They showed earlier that they are a hosting quality team with the 21-0 win but seem to be uncomfortable when trailing after the 6th inning. This is a terrible time to go into a slump. Did not playing a mid-week game hurt? Did all the favorable publicity (which was much deserved) get to their heads. The ACCN has been talking about how great Tech and FSU are and how everyone is looking forward to that series while assuming Tech would easily sweep lowly Pitt. Maybe too much pressure? Or Pitt simply is peaking now and gaining confidence?
