Is to save an ACC of sorts. No way SEC or Big give into their demands. I do see the time coming ND has to make a decision. Who would allow them more power. It would be a new acc led conference. If thatβs no to late . This deal with SeC some chatting . They already have with Clemson. . Could include FSU . Stanford stays aboard their scheduling. Smu probably. Hitting all the hot recruiting areas .
The acc for all sports is perfect for nd . Warm weather places. Easier times. They are not dumb .

ND football is not joining a conference, any conference.
If ND was forced to join one, kicking, screaming, surly and sullen, it would be one of the P2 conferences.
"Saving" the ACC does ND no good at all if the price of saving it is to surrender football independence.
The only reason ND is in the ACC at all is because it was willing to take ND without football.
In your scenario, the "cure" is the same as the "illness", i.e. ND football in a conference.

they are willing to play 6 SEC games. There is a reason Sankey talks about them glowingly, and they attacked the ACC/Miami instead of the SEC/Alabama. I would be shocked if the above doesnβt happen.

Don't try to read into it. These things we hear in public forums are likely a faint representation of the kissing-up going on behind closed doors.

The scheduling with the ACC has been fantastic for ND in terms of wins on the field. So they will have to decide what is more important, more wins from ACC games, or more tv viewers from SEC/BIG games?
There is always a tradeoff.

The ACC cannot deliver them to us, so something has to be done.

If they were all top 25 and had nationally known players, would the matchups then be interesting enough for NBC?
Orβ¦.
Is it about the brands and most ACC schools will never be good enough no matter how good they are on the field?
Those are two very different things. The first can be fixed by the ACC. The second can mostly only be fixed by the SEC and BIG.

that thinks they are a 10 and deserves to be treated as such. It is the story of their existence for the last 3+ decades.

24-4 in the last two years, 34-7 in the last three, 54-13 in the last five.
Three playoff appearances since 2018, ND won 3 playoff games and was in the title game in 2024.
Are there five or more teams with a better record over that time in America?

and you can pick 5 years versus decades as I chose. Most would say longer periods are more indicative of an actual program There are plenty more than five teams over the last 30+ years with better records than ND and some have national championships to boot. As far as your question goes I expect Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, MIchigan and Oregon could serve as a start.

you wish to try and make yourself feel good about your program. The one thing you can't do in the last 5, 10, 15, 20,, 25 or even 30 years is find a national championship in those records. There is your FACT.

Then every school in America except for about four or five fail that standard.

for arrogant independents that think they are entitled to status as a conference of one. You guys have made your bed and crying about having to lie in it, while expected with your AD, is not good form.

from a whiner like you who only a few short weeks ago was whining and proclaiming you were leaving only to still be here. Nobody can ever surpass you no matter how hard they might try.

I didn't cherry pick five years out of the last 20.
I suggest the last five years is more indictive of the current state of the program than 20 years ago.
Also, I posted w/l records. Facts. No opinions.
