The Athletic article on ND independence and ND/NBC deal negotiations
"A second sports media consultant, who would speak only on background due to the sensitivity of negotiations, believed a $60 million agreement for Notre Dame’s next NBC deal would be in the ballpark of current market value. Privately, Notre Dame hopes to at least double its current media rights deal with NBC, with internal perspective that the school must be within “striking distance” of the SEC and Big Ten financially. Revenue from the ACC Network has been slightly better than forecast to date. And hitting analysts’ projections of $60 million would seem to make Notre Dame whole. “It’s Notre Dame. It’s the whale. It’s what everybody wants,” said the anonymous media consultant. “After so many years, why change now? It’s kind of like the Masters and CBS. It’s just one of those things that is just kind of there and it’s expected. You don’t wake up thinking the Masters went somewhere else for a few dollars more.” ** Edited by TerryD at 7/12/2023, 9:19:00 AM

Status quo prevails...
Your move, ESPN. Keep the ACC together as a viable home for ND non-football sports or continue to undermine and underpay the ACC into an eventual collapse?

Sounds like it is working out for you.

They could always do what the B10 did and sell some games twice.
ND should make sure the "second sports media consultant" is not Kevin Warren. ** Edited by Truthahn at 7/12/2023, 11:10:22 AM
