If the P2 want to go to 24 teams each, they can put their heads together
and chop up the ACC. That would of course include collaboration with the teams they want. An eight-team strong mutiny could reduce the ACC GOR to ashes.

The ACC has lost this game of expansion. The schools that have any value to other leagues need to work together to find enough landing spots and then vote to dissolve the league. There will be some schools left behind (VT may be one), but that's the unadulterated reality of high stakes college athletics. You aren't guaranteed anything. You make it for yourself and that's what needs to happen for the ACC, sooner rather than later. Having it drag on will just make the hole bigger for all involved to climb out of.

The SEC and B1G will be the 2, and the 20+ remnants of the ACC, BigXII, and PAC12 will be the 0.5. The big name schools left in the Big Coast Conference will still have some value, a lot more value than the G5. The winner of that conference will be guaranteed a spot in the CFP, but only 1 spot because the B1G and SEC will make sure that they have at least 8 of the spots taken.

Starting off believing you’re defeated seems like the worst possible reaction. Anything the ACC has as leverage needs to be pulled out. At least make the poaching difficult.
