Bad news, ACC revenue sharing will not be kind to VT

I've started to dig into the viewership numbers that will be relevant to the new ACC revenue sharing model (60% based on tv viewership over the most recent 5 years). I do have a bunch of questions about how they will implement this. A key question is how will they account for ACC Network games (does ESPN give them data)? And the answers could help VT somewhat. But for now, if I use the known viewership numbers for all games from the past 5 years it gives the below result. VT's position only changes by one spot if we look at only regular season conference games. VT records, style of play, and schedules have all combined into a horrific outcome. Without a significant change in VT performance, we may actually start getting less money from the ACC. Just to be brutally clear, we are past the tipping point of losing tv viewership momentum as a program and are in critical need of a boost. Otherwise, our money situation will not improve at all. @Will Stewart @Chris Coleman ** Edited by HokieAl at 8/4/2025, 12:23:55 AM

This data is not believable.

Here is the proof. The sad fact is that VT has actually fallen that far

This data is 100% accurate for known viewership numbers

It's a self-fulfilling prophecy by design. Of course the conference wants

Specifics likely vague so ACC can funnel $ to who they want to keep happy

Just another reason I've predicted that the ACC is dead in the water.

I don't understand why schools voted for the brand initiative.

The current ACC will exist as long as the P2 decides NOT to expand.
