ESPN extended ACC agreement to 2036, wouldn’t do that to kill Conference.
They also get 50% of the profits on the ACC Network, why would they want to kill that?
Why would the ACC Commissioner sign the agreement, unless he had an assurance of a long term future?
Now will the ACC be the same? NO, but I could easily see them a basketball power house again, ironically with the Big East, and probably a few others to replace the football first schools that leave. (Maybe USF, UCF to have two in Florida again, maybe try to grab some 4 corner schools that don’t get a P2 invite, maybe a San Diego State etc.)
Point being is I see people predicting the complete demise of the ACC, I just don’t see why ESPN would extend the deal to 2036 or why the ACC would agree to the new agreement if they didn’t see a long term path forward.
