Locked on Tar Heels is on locked on Big 12, I know some won’t like this 🔗

However, this one seems more based in reality than many of them. It definitely has a UNC bias of NCSU is their anchor, which might be true, but it seemed a little down your nose for me, but most of it seems plausible to me. It’s long so I will give you my bullet points. Locked on Tarheels thinks, if they leave the ACC their first choice is the B1G, here is why he thinks so: *B1G Academics are better than SEC, and that matters to the Academic people at the top that make the decisions *UNC is an AAU school, again at the top where decisions are made matters *B1G has the sports that UNC wants for their 27 sports and they would have to cut or find conferences for a lot of sports in the SEC *The Directors Cup is big to UNC, so maintaining the above is very important to the administration and the Olympic teams that have done so well at UNC *B1G makes more money than the SEC Now I am going to add 2 of my own. He talks about the NC legislature putting an anchor on UNC trying to make sure NCSU is okay too. *That probably goes away if NCSU goes to the SEC, and UNC goes to the B1G *UNC gets a lot of Out of State Students from the north, and the exposure in the north will keep that exposure up in the B1G, but probably not as much in the SEC, especially for Olympic Sports that again, matter a lot at UNC By the way, most if not all of this is applicable to Virginia and Virginia Tech IMHO. He said he doesn’t think UNC will sue for two reasons. One FSU and Clemson are already doing the dirty work, and they don’t need to. Second, they don’t want to be the first to bring down the conference they helped form and have been at the royal table, and it’s in their backyard. Like all of us, it has his school’s slant to it and the locked on Big 12 guy is trying to act like the ACC is done, like always, but if you can get by the bias it’s pretty interesting, if you have the time. ** Edited by Stech at 5/8/2024, 11:50:32 AM

UNC is fun. Tech fans outnumber Tarheel fans. **

Yeah that’s why I wouldn’t be surprised to see NCSU to the SEC, it fits

VT Pez4Life 05/08/24 12:17 PM ET
Keep an eye on Amazon as an ESPN partner to do direct sales, the Disney CEO
Stech 05/08/24 12:56 PM ET
I wonder if the ACC would ever consider this
Millpoint 05/08/24 10:51 AM ET
The money until they expand th bball tournament is 80% football, Miami & VT
Stech 05/08/24 12:22 PM ET
Keep in mind, you are talking media money, not total revenue. VT makes more
Big12 guy 05/08/24 02:10 PM ET
I think they can make it, but we have lost our last two basketball coaches

Nice try.......

First reread, I didn't say they would be cut, but I am worried about them
Stech 05/08/24 04:58 PM ET
I still remember a UNC professor talking crap about VT academics
HokieAl 05/08/24 12:02 PM ET
FSU and Clemson would drop their suits tomorrow, and ESPN would renew
Big12 guy 05/08/24 11:10 AM ET
UNC has been running the ACC, and we're pretty sure they have been...
EDGEMAN 05/08/24 10:54 AM ET
Don't forget they are also academic frauds.**

HokieAl 05/08/24 10:32 AM ET

DMV Gobbler 05/08/24 10:29 AM ET
Those are some good points that I haven't seen made before. Maybe it's why
Stech 05/08/24 12:42 PM ET
I wonder how Miami feels about FL politician support for FSU?
Truthahn 05/08/24 12:40 PM ET
If FSU goes to the B1G, which right now I think they will, Miami may follow
Stech 05/08/24 12:50 PM ET
