If the game is being played at Ohio State, then the ACC won't get any boost

in ratings because the BTN will have exclusive rights to the game. Plus, it is likely when the return game is played at FSU, then Ohio State will want that game played at the beginning of the season which doesn't help the ACC late in the season. If Ohio State wants to play FSU at home in late October, then at most 4 teams' conference schedule could be impacted by that decision; Ohio State, another Big Ten team, FSU, and another ACC team (aka whomever FSU was scheduled to play that week instead of Ohio State). The ACC, Big Ten, Big XII, and SEC are playing the game from a scheduling perspective; try to get as many teams in the FBS Playoffs as possible. The more teams that make it, the more more that goes into the conference's pocket. The reason the ACC is willing to accommodate Notre Dame is because they are a member of the ACC for all other sports. The ACC has no reason to be accommodating to non-members. Just like the Big Ten, Big XII, and SEC have no reason to be accommodating to ACC members. I'm pretty sure the networks understand that aspect of the game and not push the issue too much because the extra juice gained during the regular season may not be worth the squeeze (aka whatever is gained in the postseason).
