All of the GOR agreements end at about the same time

If the schools like Kansas and Arizona and Oklahoma State and West Virginia are not thinking creatively about a future that does not involve the Big 12 as it is presently constituted, they are doing themselves a disservice. Which I doubt will occur. I think the Big 12 has a lot of positive aspects. But if you started from scratch and picked the 24-32 programs you’d like to bring together to form a second tier super league, there are some schools like Baylor and Cincinnati and UCF that are not sure to make the cut, especially if there are some stray P2 schools like Mississippi State or Kentucky or Minnesota or Maryland available.

Misplaced Anger
I85Hokie 12/09/25 07:49 AM ET
ND is pissed at ESPN too
TerryD 12/09/25 07:52 AM ET
Short sighted. The damage to ND's reputation is not worth it.**
Truthahn 12/09/25 12:11 PM ET
In fairness, don’t you agree that this faux anger is just awkward cover?
Tailgate Guru 12/09/25 08:11 AM ET
BTW, I have no anger/hatred and actually would prefer the status quo
TerryD 12/09/25 01:14 PM ET
And we appreciate your attitude
Tailgate Guru 12/09/25 01:17 PM ET
I think that the anger is real and visceral
TerryD 12/09/25 01:09 PM ET
I said "do", not "say"**
TerryD 12/09/25 01:15 PM ET
To the contrary, Bevacqua commented rashly, emotionally and foolishly **
Tailgate Guru 12/09/25 01:13 PM ET
This is pretty close to what I tried to less eloquently say last night
Vippie1 12/09/25 09:51 AM ET
The Big 10 will not go for some kind
mancunian 12/09/25 08:51 AM ET
What? On what planet wouldn't they?
Baltimore_Hokie 12/09/25 10:19 AM ET
What I'm saying is the Big 10 won't go for the deal
mancunian 12/09/25 10:25 AM ET
Ah, OK. I misunderstood. I still think both P2's would want 4 games a year.
Baltimore_Hokie 12/09/25 10:30 AM ET
Quote from Bevacqua today that supports the "draw" part
TerryD 12/09/25 01:04 PM ET
Since the Big Ten and NBC are partnered up, it makes all the sense in the

I wasn't completely clear intially.
mancunian 12/09/25 10:41 AM ET
Agreed. P2 isn't taking the other sports without football.**
reestuart 12/09/25 10:27 AM ET
Yeah, but neither P2 has to. Has everyone forgotten about the Big East?
Baltimore_Hokie 12/09/25 10:32 AM ET
NBC wants content. And the B1G is a sucker for more money
Tailgate Guru 12/09/25 09:05 AM ET
ND has not financially supported basketball for forty five years
TerryD 12/09/25 01:07 PM ET
Precisely
Tailgate Guru 12/09/25 01:15 PM ET
People forget
TerryD 12/09/25 01:22 PM ET
The only plan they could have that would make sense would be dropping
reestuart 12/09/25 09:38 AM ET
Put hoops and non-revs in Big East
Tailgate Guru 12/09/25 10:01 AM ET
I think this is the correct answer. If they can ink a scheduling

Whispers “Utah”
Tailgate Guru 12/09/25 11:27 AM ET
There is a difference. Utah did not want out of the PAC, and when

All of the GOR agreements end at about the same time
Tailgate Guru 12/09/25 12:52 PM ET
No doubt about it, as I concur. The B12 is a patchwork
Big12 guy 12/09/25 01:29 PM ET
Texass is a conference killer.
RJHokie 12/09/25 10:56 AM ET
My guess is Notre Dame's plan is to remain Independent in football and

Agreed. I think this is cover/ammo for trying to break the GOR for nonrevs**
RTFC 12/09/25 09:21 AM ET
I have a new ND theory (for fun). FSU and a few others approached ND
HokieAl 12/09/25 08:22 AM ET
That may have been building behind the scenes for a while
Victor Tango 12/09/25 09:14 AM ET
Why stop at football when they can go after the whole ball of wax?**
